Summer Parking Control Begins May 6
With spring semester drawing to a close, summer parking control will begin Monday, May 6. While most lots will remain on control, permit holders will experience more flexibility in student parking areas. Most University student parking lots will be controlled for any valid permit during the summer months; the exceptions are the R2 and R3 parking areas, which will not be controlled for permits during the summer. All employee parking areas will remain on control, as will the R17 parking area.
Summer permits for students are currently available at a cost of $7 per week, and are available at Parking and Transportation Services, 721 Press Avenue (Parking Structure #6). The permits may be purchased for any number of weeks between May 6 and August 2, 2013.
Please note that even when permits are not required, lots are still monitored for other parking violations such as parking in disabled parking areas without the proper permit, parking in fire lanes and on yellow lines.
CATS Summer/Break Route Will Start May 6
PTS will be operating the CATS Summer/Break Route from Monday, May 6 through Tuesday, August 27, with the exception of Monday, May 27 and Thursday, July 4. Service will run 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. The route is a 30 minute loop around campus, and will have two buses running in 15 minute intervals.
All CATS buses are on Cat Tracker, a real-time GPS-based bus locating system. Cat Tracker can be accessed at http://uky.transloc.com, via the free TransLoc Android, BlackBerry and iPhone apps and through QR and SMS codes located on each bus stop sign.
More information about all the bus routes, including maps and schedule, can be found at www.uky.edu/pts/buses-and-shuttles_campus-shuttles.
