Alumni Gym Lot Unavailable on Thursday, June 5

The Alumni Gym lot, which is adjacent to the Student Center, will be unavailable to general parking on Thursday, June 5. The lot will be closed due to UK Appreciation Day staging. The lot consists of 43 spaces.

Members of the University community with valid E permits who normally park their vehicles in this lot may park in other E lots on campus. Go to to view a campus parking map.

Employees who typically park on North Campus should plan accordingly and allow extra time in arriving to work.

Free Parking and Shuttle Service for UK Appreciation Day

UK Parking and Transportation Services is providing free parking and shuttle service on Thursday, June 5 for UK Appreciation Day attendees.

The following lots will be available for Appreciation Day parking: the Student Center Lot, the College View Lot, the Coliseum Lot (located behind the Joe Craft Center), the Taylor-Dickey Lot, the Scott Street Lot and the K areas at Commonwealth Stadium. These areas will not be controlled for permits on Thursday, June 5.

Additionally, the South Limestone Garage (PS #5) will be under normal operation and available as a paid parking option for Appreciation Day attendees.

Two CATS buses will operate every 15 minutes on a fixed route with four stops at various locations around campus from 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. A third CATS bus will operate for attendees from UK HealthCare during the same time period.

More UK Appreciation Day information, including a map of bus stops, can be found at (PDF). All CATS buses are on Cat Tracker, a real-time GPS-based bus locating system. Cat Tracker can be accessed at, via the free TransLoc Android, BlackBerry and iPhone apps. The Appreciation Day buses will be indicated in blue on Cat Tracker.

UK Appreciation Day attendees are advised to not use the CATS Summer/Break Route, as it will not provide direct service to the Student Center.

Members of the campus community are encouraged to tune into 1700 AM (WQKH 253) to hear campus parking and transportation information. The station broadcasts 24 hours, 7 days a week.
