Xi Chen is an assistant professor of Global Health Policy and Economics at Yale University. He is a faculty fellow at Yale Institution for Social and Policy Studies, Yale Climate Change and Health Initiative, Yale Macmillan Center, Yale Institute for Network Science, and a faculty advisor of the Yale-China Association. His areas of interest involve Health, Labor, and Development Economics. Speci­cally, his research focuses on the following areas: 1) fetal and early childhood development; 2) population aging and public policies; 3) climate change and health; and 4) quality of life. He has been consulting for multiple research institutions at the United Nations. Chen's work has been recognized through numerous awards, including the George Warren Award (Cornell University), the Outstanding Ph.D. Dissertation Award (Agricultural and Applied Economics Association), the MacMillan Award (Yale University), an Early Career Award (NIH), and the U.S. PEPPER Center Scholar Award. His research has been covered in various popular media, such as The Macmillan Report, The Economist, The Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine, The Guardian, and China Central Television. Chen obtained a Ph.D. in Applied Economics from Cornell University.
