The Department of Health Services Management in the University of Kentucky College of Public Health is recruiting a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor to fulfill the College and University missions of research, teaching, and service.
We are seeking applicants with strong health services research skills and are particularly interested in persons with expertise in the following research areas: patient-centered outcomes, comparative effectiveness, addiction health services, rural health, and implementation science.
Opportunities for helping to direct our Dr.P.H. program, which has a concentration in health services and systems research, exist for interested and qualified applicants.
Qualifications include a Ph.D. or other relevant terminal degree with a major or emphasis in Health Management and Policy, Health Services Research, Epidemiology, Health Economics, Sociology, or other area relevant to health services research. Applicants must have demonstrated potential or evidence of achievement in extramural funding (e.g. AHRQ, NIH, or PCORI), scholarly publication, teaching, and excellent communication skills.
The department is composed of 18 faculty members with a range of expertise in health services research, management, and policy. Faculty members have current or recent funding from NIDA, NIAAA, RWJF (the department houses the RWJF-funded National Center for Public Health Systems Research), and other governmental and private sources. The department also hosts the editorial offices of The Journal of Rural Health and Frontiers in Public Health Service and Systems Research. In addition, the university recently invested in the formation of a campus-wide Center for Health Services Research, demonstrating its commitment to the field.
