March Is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.
Our community has a unique opportunity to see what a healthy colon looks like!

The Letcher County Health Center in conjunction with Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital would like to invite you to come out and tour the “Incredible Colon” provide by the Perry County Cancer Coalition on March 26th at the Letcher County Recreational Center from 10:00 AM to 2:00PM.  

This is a three-dimensional inflatable exhibit that will be open to the public. Dr. Dustin Campbell a surgeon from WARH will be there to answer questions.

University Of Kentucky RCPC staff will be there to enroll eligible participants (50 – 75 years old or possibly younger if they have had a father, mother, sister or brother diagnosed with colorectal cancer) in a research study. Participants will receive a free FIT screening kit for home collection of specimen. The researchers will make arrangements to pick up the specimen and will at that time provide a $20.00 gift card to each participant.
