Fee Assessment Policy

NOTE: Mandatory fees are included in the overall tuition and fees assessment.

Full-time students are assessed 12 different mandatory activity/service fees at fixed amounts for fall and spring semesters.

Full-time Students Include:

  • Undergraduate: 12 or more credit hours
  • Graduate, Ph.D in Public Health, Ph.D in Nursing, Ph.D in Physical Therapy, MA in Diplomacy and International Commerce, MBA Evening, MS in Physician Assistant Studies, MS in Health Physics, MS in Radiological Medical Physic: 9 or more hours
  • Medical Physics: 9 or more credit hours
  • Law: 10 or more credit hours
  • Pharmacy: 12 or more credit hours
  • Dentistry, MBA Day, Medicine, Ph.D in Physical Therapy: 1 or more credit hour

Fees Include:

  • Student Activity Board
  • Athletics
  • Student Center
  • Student Health
  • WRFL Student Radio
  • International Study Abroad
  • Johnson Center
  • Student Government
  • Student Involvement
  • Student Services
  • Environmental Stewardship
Exception:
  • Students with all classes in counties not contiguous to Fayette County (i.e. outside of Fayette, Bourbon, Clark, Jessamine, Madison, Scott and Woodford counties).
  • Specific groups traditionally include Education Abroad, Rural Health and Paducah Engineering students.
  • Students with all distance learning classes (if they meet the above condition).
  • Students considered full-time for financial aid and reporting purposes, but with less than full-time credit hours; i.e., graduate students in residency status (zero or two hours credit).



Part-time students are assessed 5 different mandatory activity/service fees on a per credit hour basis with a 10 credit hour cap for any semester.

Part-time Students Include:

  • Undergraduate: less than 12 credit hours
  • Graduate, PhD in Public Health, PhD in Nursing, PhD in Physical Therapy, MA in Diplomacy & Int'l Commerce, MBA Evening, MS in Physician Assistant Studies, MS in Health Physics, MS in Radiological Medical Physics: less than 9 credit hours
  • Law: less than 10 credit hours
  • Pharmacy: less than 12 credit hours

Exceptions:
