Call for Proposals
Renovated Student Center
Co-curricular Programming for the University of Kentucky’s
The Division of Student and Academic Life invites all academic units to submit one or more proposals related to co-curricular programming as part of a set of year-long, university-wide programming initiatives planned for the 2018-2019 academic year.
This programming initiative involves an intentional plan aimed at making the renovated student center more than a building, turning it into the heart of campus – UK’s living room if you will. A set of student-driven programming initiatives has already begun around the theme of Building Community through Exploring Culture. The goal of this initiative is to create a set of innovative, intentional, co-curricular programming activities that deepen the connections between our academic programs and the student center.
We anticipate funding 10-20 projects on the order of $10,000 per project; however, larger grants may be awarded to support collaborative projects or particularly promising opportunities.
In order to foster innovative co-curricular programming that features human-centered design, we are organizing this work around design thinking methodologies. We hosted a design thinking workshop that we hope will guide your efforts in this area, and we will continue to provide training and support in this area throughout the upcoming year.
