AWARE Control System: 19#

return to virtual tour

The s.ky blue team prides itself on the highly flexible AWARE or Automated Weather Adaptive Response Energy control system that is being developed as part of a research project at the University of Kentucky. This system is an accessible and easy-to-use control system that makes it possible to meet the occupants desired comfort level. The system has been designed so customizing your home for your needs is possible. The control system’s computer interface allows the user to view and analyze their energy consumption. It displays the circuits and items consuming energy to promote awareness and alert the occupants of practices that waste energy so they can partner with their home in the conservation effort. The key component of the AWARE control system is its ability to read a zip-code specific weather forecast 3 to 6 hours in advance. It then simulates the various ways of operating the house systems based upon the weather forecast and picks the optimal mode of operation.
