Aging in Place Marketability: 17#

return to virtual tour

The primary target market for the s.ky blue solar house project is the aging-in place community. Designed to demonstrate the core concepts of our “live.light” ethos, the house is efficiently created to minimize its footprint by being energy, water and material efficient. Adaptability is central to this approach and it’s the ability of the house to be outwardly site-malleable and inwardly-flexible that will allow our target market residents to “age in place.”

The concept aging in place can be described as individuals who choose to continue living in their home for as long as confidently and comfortably possible. Adaptability is central to this approach and it is the ability of the house to be outwardly site-malleable and inwardly-flexible that will allow our target market residents to “age in place.” Meeting the needs of this market, the design of the house enables handicap accessibility with the addition of grab bars in the bathroom, thus eliminating the need for extensive renovations as the individual ages.
