Sustainability: 5#

return to virtual tour

Sustainability is providing for the needs of today without sacrificing the needs of tomorrow. This concept is not limited to energy conservation while constructing a building, but also covers the sustainability of the structure over time.

Ideally, our mission of reduce, reuse and recycle is to be the standard of future building concepts. The s.ky blue solar house was designed using a process called B.I.M or Building Information Modeling. This process enabled the s.ky blue team to predict the required amount of material needed for the project, which in turn significantly reduced the amount of waste during construction. All materials throughout the home are Forest Stewardship Council certified, GREENGUARD compliant, and/or recyclable and can be re-recycled post deconstruction.
