CRCA 2000 Proposed Rule Changes Survey

Gary De Boy mailed a survey to CRCA membership in April, 2000 regarding 4 possible rule changes for NCAA Rifle. Of the 34 surveys mailed, 17 were returned. The results are summarized as best as possible below.

1. What do you think of adding the USA Shooting target to the list of approved targets for NCAA Rifle matches?
In favor - 5
Opposed - 7
Undecided / don't care - 5

2. What do you think of designating 5 shooters at the start of a match and counting the top 4 at the end for your team score? Or designating 4 and counting the top 3?
Shoot 5 count 4 - 10
Shoot 4 count 3 - 2
Shoot 5 count 5 - 1
Shoot 4 count 4 - 4

3. How about more than one qualifying match for the NCAA Championship?
Two - 12
One - 5

4. What about having everyone shoot their qualifying match on the same weekend (with alternates for bad weather) if we continue to only have one qualifying match?
Yes - 8
No - 6
Want 2 qualifiers - 3

NOTE: The NCAA followed this up in November, 2000 with a similar survey. I do not know the results of this survey at this time.
