General Information

Did you ever want to try out FLY FISHING but didn’t want to spend the money if you weren’t sure?  Well, here’s your chance to try it out for free with instruction from a professional!

This is a 1 day course and trip offer!!!

A mandatory 2 hour casting & instruction session will be hosted at the Lancaster Aquatic Center from 7-9am. Then, participants will be loaded into a UK 12 passenger van, and travel to Wolf Creek Dam to Fly-Fish. This event will be hosted by UK Campus Recreation's Outdoor Pursuits and Aquatics' programs.  

All participants will be provided with a fly rod outfit & flies to use, and will be taught the basics of casting, along with an opportunity to Fly-fish in one of KY's top locations..

Registration will be from January 14th - April 9th...

Sign up in the Johnson Center main office, room 177 Johnson Center. Completion of a trip application and trip fee payments are due at the time you sign up. Office hours are Monday – Friday, 7:00am–6:00pm. We accept cash, credit cards, or checks (payable to UK).


 
*The course will be limited to the first 6 students to sign up. All faculty and staff will be put on a waiting list and entered if the course is not filled by students.
