Memberships

Student Memberships

Current University of Kentucky students and eligible BCTC students (who have paid the recreation fee through the UK e–Store) may use the facility by presenting their student ID card. There will be no admittance without a student ID card.

Summer Semester
Students not enrolled in summer school may purchase a membership for the summer if they were enrolled in the previous spring semester.

Employee Memberships

Current UK and BCTC employees (Cooper Drive campus only)‚ retirees‚ Donovan Scholars‚ and VA employees are eligible to purchase a Johnson Center membership. Memberships can be purchased in the main office, room 177 Johnson Center. Hours are Monday - Friday, 7am - 6pm. Please bring a photo ID when purchasing a membership.

Spouse Memberships

Spouses of current Johnson Center members are eligible to purchase Johnson Center memberships. Memberships can be purchased in the main office, room 177 Johnson Center. Hours are Monday - Friday, 7am - 6pm. Please come with your spouse who is the Johnson Center member, or bring their Johnson Center or student ID card with you to purchase the spouse membership.

Dependent Memberships

A daily guest pass must be purchased by a Johnson Center member in order for dependents to use the facility. All guest pass rules apply.

Alumni Passes

Current members of the UK Alumni Association may purchase a daily Johnson Center pass for $10 per visit‚ cash, check, or credit card. Alumni wishing to utilize this service must present a current University of Kentucky Alumni Association Membership Card and a photo ID.

Guest Passes

Guest passes are $5 per visit and must be purchased by a Johnson Center member. Members must accompany their guest at all times while in the facility. Members may purchase up to 2 guest passes per day. Guests must be at least 14 years old to enter the facility. All guests must provide a photo ID for admittance.

ID Cards

Those who purchase Johnson Center memberships must present their Johnson Center ID card to gain admittance. Members whose Johnson Center ID cards have been lost or stolen must come to the Campus Recreation office during office hours‚ Monday–Friday‚ 7 am – 6 pm‚ to have a new ID card made. Members will not be admitted to the facility without a Johnson Center ID card. The cost of a replacement ID card is $10.

Assumption of Risk

Participants understand that physical activities contain an element of inherent danger including serious injury or even death. Participation in all activities is on a voluntary basis at the individuals’s own risk. All participants are strongly encouraged to undergo a physical examination and consult with their personal physician indicating fitness level appropriateness for strenuous activities and to carry medical insurance coverage‚ prior to participating in any activity.
