January 15, 2014: Spring Semester Begins

The last day for students to drop a class & to receive a full refund is January 14. 


Beginning January 20, 2014: Early Student Alert Referrals

  • Early intervention for students who have academic and behavioral issues is strongly encouraged.  It is best to submit these within the first six weeks of classes.

Last day for students to officially withdraw from the University or reduce course load and receive an 80 percent refund


February 1, 2014: Deadline for Submissions for Conference on “Practicing Scholarly and Creative Teaching" Conference

Kentucky’s Council on Postsecondary Education is sponsoring a one-day conference on May 16, 2014 entitled “Practicing Scholarly and Creative Teaching.”  The conference will be held in the Noel Studio for Academic Creativity at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond.

March 3, 2014 to March 14, 2014: Midterm Grading Window is Open

  • The mid-term grading window will close at midnight on March 14.
  • Submit Grades: Faculty may submit midterm grades through myUK.
  • Mid-Semester Feedback: CELT offers a mid-semester course feedback service that can provide you with instructional information at a time in the academic calendar that allows you to make mid-semester course adjustments if you wish.  More information is here.

April 3 - 4, 2014: NCUR

Reminder: The University Senate has granted permission for all classes to be redirected Thursday, April 3 and Friday, April 4, while the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) takes place. "Redirection" means, although classes are not officially cancelled, ALL faculty are strongly encouraged to release students from their normal class commitments to participate in NCUR as part of class assignments.  There are many ways for students to participate - from attending a given oral or poster presentation, to volunteering their time and effort at any of the wide variety of events that will comprise the conference. Online sign-up to volunteer will ensure faculty members of their students' participation (please contact volunteer coordinator Jillian Pyatte; jillian.pyatte@uky.edu). April 28, 2014 to May 12, 2014: Final Grading Window is Open

The final deadline for submission of grades online in the grading portal is midnight, May 12.
