Overaward Policy

Federal and state need-based aid regulations (laws) stipulate that a student receiving federal or state need-based awards cannot receive assistance (from any source) in excess of his/her gross financial need as determined by the analysis of the information submitted on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Plus Account

The Plus Account is a debit program for University of Kentucky students, faculty, and staff, and Bluegrass Community & Technical College students.

Reasonable Academic Progress (RAP)

In order to be eligible to receive the financial aid, a returning student is required to have met certain standards of satisfactory academic progress during his or her previous UK attendance.

The Robinson Scholars Program serves first generation college-bound and college students who have demonstrated the potential to succeed but who might encounter economic, cultural, or institutional impediments to their completion of four-year college degrees.

Withdrawal

All students, including degree seeking, non-degree seeking, and visiting students, who wish to leave the university during a term (fall, spring or summer) must formally withdraw.

For more information about withdraw, or to discuss options before withdrawing, please contact the Director of Retention, Bethany Miller. 

Withdrawal and Financial Aid

Federal financial aid recipients who withdraw from the semester before 60 percent of the term is completed are subject to Return to Title IV regulations.

Work Study

The purpose of FWS is to provide students with part-time employment to help meet college costs and, if possible, provide work experience in a related field.
