Virtual Career Fair Offered to Students in SEC, ACC

Students and alumni of the University of Kentucky are encouraged to participate in the SEC and ACC Universities Virtual Career Fair being held online through Thursday, April 4. UK is one of 23 SEC and ACC schools participating in the virtual career fair featuring more than 60 employers.

Employers participating in the virtual career fair are offering full-time jobs, internships and co-op opportunities, and represent such fields as engineering, technology, business, accounting, marketing, sales, science, human resources and more.
 

UK Opens the Vault Making Career Insider Available to Full-time Students

Through the James W. Stuckert Career Center, all full-time University of Kentucky students have free, unlimited access to the resources available through Career Insider, Vault.com's career intelligence portal for universities. Vault.com, a career intelligence website, provides many job-related resources to its more than 1.3 million members including industry blogs, company overviews, job listings and salary reports.  Read the full UKnow story.

Post-Graduate Lifestyle Transition

Students have an opportunity to have a smoother post-graduate transition by attending It’s Your Reality in the Student Center Grand Ballroom from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday.

CPE Student Success Summit

The Kentucky Student Success Summit stimulates conversations among faculty, staff, and administrators on ways to improve classroom and institutional practices to enhance student success. 

Honors Students Present Research at Kentucky Honors Roundtable

Students in the University of Kentucky Honors Program had the opportunity to demonstrate their dexterity last month at the bi-annual Kentucky Honors Roundtable (KHR), hosted at UK. A conference held each spring, KHR rotates among public universities in the Commonwealth and allows undergraduate students to present their research projects, serve on academic panels and interact with academically excelling students from other Kentucky institutions. This year the conference hosted approximately 60 presentations, spanning over a range of diverse topics.

Student Government Scholarship Deadline March 19

UK students work hard for their academic success and work even harder in their organizations and involvement on campus. Why not get rewarded for all that hard work? UK Student Government Association currently has five scholarships and awards available for outstanding students.

A "Scorecard" for U.S. Higher Education

In his State of the Union address, President Obama announced the creation of a “Scorecard” for American colleges and universities. The aim is to provide prospective students and their families with a brief snapshot of some measures of institutional cost and quality. The University of Kentucky’s Scorecard is available here.

UK Students Receive Scholarships to Study Languages Abroad

An undergraduate in the University of Kentucky's College of Communication and Information and a doctoral candidate in the College of Arts and Sciences have received Critical Language Scholarships to study languages abroad. Meredith King, a senior majoring in communication, will study Chinese in China, and Lydia Shanklin Roll, a doctoral candidate in anthropology, will study Turkish in Turkey.
