Julie Bradley: Hi Wildcat! Welcome to the University of Kentucky! My name is Julie Bradley and I am the Assistant Director of Academic Coaching in the Department of Transformative Learning. I will be your academic coach this fall. I love academic coaching- assisting students in learning the skills and resources to be successful in college and beyond is very rewarding! When I am not working, I love to spend time with my family, hike, and in general be outside. I am excited to meet you and help you reach your goals!
Hasan Abdel-Jaber: Hi, my name is Hasan Abdel-Jaber. Born and raised here in Lexington! I am a Master's student in Education. This is my second year working for the Transformative Learning Department. I enjoy being an Academic Coach because I get to help students achieve their goals! I look forward to working with you all this school year!
Frieda Baker: Hello! My name is Frieda and I'm currently pursuing my Master of Social Work with a focus on community and social development. I'm so excited to be on the Academic Coaching team and have a chance to work with you! As an educator with over 7 years experience teaching English as a second language, life skills, and photography, one of my greatest joys is being able to help and empower others in their learning. I'm passionate about travel and learning about other cultures. I hope to see you soon!
Amelia English: My name is Amelia English and I am a graduate student currently studying Higher Education here at UK. I graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Japanese and Chinese and a second degree in Comparative Literature and Culture. I love to knit, take photos, and have recently taken an interest in learning about Kentucky’s native flora! I’m excited to have an opportunity to work with students to meet their academic goals. Sydnee Franklin: Hey all! My name is Sydnee Franklin. I’m a first-year Masters student in the College of Social Work. I’m also working towards a School Social Work Preparatory certificate. I was born and raised here in Lexington, Kentucky. If I’m not working or at school, you can find me watching Netflix or spending time with my family. I’m very excited to be an Academic Coach this year. I’ve found a passion in helping students realize their full potential and supporting their overall success. I look forward to learning and growing with you!
Johnson Lam: Hi! My name is Johnson Lam and I'm a second year Master’s student in the Higher Education and Educational Policy program. I’m originally from Lexington, KY, and I received my bachelor’s degree from UK as well. This is my second year working as an Academic Coach, and I’ve worked with Transformative Learning for a number of years in various positions. In my spare time, I look for any excuse to take photos, and I also enjoy trying new foods and restaurants! I always enjoy meeting new people and working with other students to help them discover their passions, set personal goals, and achieve greater growth as individuals. I can't wait to start working with you all!
Ranym Nenneh: Hello! My name is Ranym, I'm a first-year Masters student in The College of Social Work. I was a Student Program Coordinator at Presentation U and am very excited to help advance student success now as an Academic Coach. In my free time, I enjoy dancing, swimming, and watching Netflix. I obtained my undergraduate degree from UK and can't wait to share my knowledge of success strategies and campus resources with you! I'm excited to work with you and help you make the most out of your college career!
Kirsten Railey: Hi! My name is Kirsten Railey and I'm a 6th year PhD student in school psychology currently working on my dissertation, which is focused on training first responders to support and serve people with autism. I am originally from North Carolina, but I moved to Kentucky five years ago to start graduate school (Go Cats!). In my free time, you can find me spending time with family and friends, hiking, or binge-watching Netflix. I am passionate about helping students set goals, follow their dreams, and find greater awareness of their various talents and skills. I am excited to begin my second year with the Academic Coaching team, and I look forward to helping you reach your personal goals!
