University Drive Garage Construction Impact

As part of the annual routine maintenance work on the University's parking structures, the top level of the University Drive Garage (PS #1) will be temporarily closed for upkeep and maintenance, starting on Monday, May 8.

Transportation Services is undertaking this process to help extend the useful life of the facility.

The project is expected to last 30 days. However, as with all construction projects, this timetable is weather-dependent and subject to changes.

Summer Transit and Parking Changes

During the summer months, University of Kentucky Transportation Services implements some changes to campus transit and parking operations due to the reduced campus population.

The campus Blue, White and Green Routes will operate on their modified break schedule of 6:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., May 8 - August 18, with the exception of Monday, May 29 and Tuesday, July 4. The Orange Route (UK HealthCare Route) and the "Pink Route (Kentucky Clinic Route) will continue to run their normal schedule. Kentucky Wildcab does not operate during the summer months.

More information about all the bus routes, including maps and schedules, can be found at Campus buses can be tracked in real-time using the TransLoc Rider app on iPhone and Android devices, allowing for users to plan for delays caused by traffic, accidents or inclement weather.

Summer parking control will begin Monday, May 8. While all lots will remain on control, permit holders will experience more flexibility in student parking areas. Most university student parking lots will be controlled for any valid permit during the summer months. The exceptions are the R6, R16, R17 and R18 parking areas, which will remain on control for their specific permit types.

Summer parking control maps can be found at Please note that some lots are changing designation on July 1.

Members of the campus community are encouraged to tune into 1700 AM (WQKH 253) to hear campus parking and transportation information. The station broadcasts 24 hours, 7 days a week.
