The University of Kentucky offers a limited number of premium parking permits for employees that offer greater amenities at a higher rate. Reserved and Employee Core parking permits are a premium price, but offer more predictability and convenience. This page explains how these permits work and the eligibility criteria.
Employee Reserved Parking
A reserved parking permit guarantees a parking space 24 hours a day, seven days a week. University of Kentucky Transportation Services offers reserved parking in several surface lots and garages around campus; however, the University has a limited number of reserved parking permits available. Currently, reserved parking is only available within the UK HealthCare campus.
Reserved Permit Fees
Effective July 1, 2016, the cost per month for all reserved parking is $111 and the annual cost is $1,332. Permit fees are subject to change at the beginning of each fiscal year.
Reserved Permit Eligibility
All University employees are eligible to apply for reserved permits; however, approval to purchase these limited permits is generally restricted to senior UK HealthCare staff and clinical faculty.
Submission of an application for reserved parking puts one’s name on a request list. This list is reviewed by UK HealthCare and Transportation Services leadership. Selection of employees for reserved parking will be at the discretion of the Director of Transportation Services or his designee(s) in consultation with the appropriate department administrators while adhering to relevant policies and procedures.
Assignments are based on eligibility. Those not awarded permits are not added to a waiting list.

- Good Samaritan Hospital Garage, Level A
- Kentucky Clinic Garage (PS #3), first, fifth and sixth floors
- UK HealthCare Parking Garage (PS #8), first floor
- Veterans Drive Lot
Reserved parking permits are valid for the lot or garage to which the permit holder is assigned. In addition, reserved parking permits are also valid in any regular Employee (E) lot or garage.

To apply for a reserved permit, complete the Employee Reserved Permit application found at: www.uky.edu/transportation/help-and-resources_forms and submit it to UKTransportation@lsv.uky.edu or to Transportation Services, 721 Press Avenue, 0202.
Individuals choosing not to renew their reserved parking must notify Transportation Services of their decision in writing, by memo or email.
The annual parking permit period is from July 1 to June 30 of the following year. Information regarding application renewal procedures will be distributed to all reserved and E Core permit holders in advance of the expiration date. Individuals not renewing by the stated deadlines will be removed from the reserved or E Core parking and the space will be reassigned. Individuals choosing to return their parking permit to Transportation Services before July 1 may be eligible for a partial refund.
Permit fees may be paid in full by cash, check, credit or debit card or KMSF funds, or other approved methods. Permit fees may also be payroll deducted for eligible personnel, whereby a pro rata amount will be deducted from each paycheck.
Employees wishing to cancel their parking privileges may do so by returning the permit to Transportation Services. Refunds will be issued on a pro rata basis for individuals who have paid permit fees in full. Individuals being payroll deducted for reserved parking will have the deduction cancelled when the permit is returned.
