Ms. Grant served for over 30 years as an educator and speech pathologist in communities in Kentucky and Georgia. She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts in Education, in Speech Pathology and Elementary Education in 1979. She also completed graduate courses at UK in Elementary Education to attain Rank 2 Certification. While at UK, she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. Grant has been active with the UK Alumni Association, serving as president in 2011-2012. She continues to serve on the board of directors of the association and has chaired the following committees: the Great Teacher/Scholarship, Communications, Club Development, and Nominating for Board. She was president of the Clark County UK Alumni Club from 1996-1998. Ms. Grant is a 2006 recipient of the UK Alumni Association Distinguished Service Award and a member of the UK Advocacy Network (UKAN). 

During her career as an educator, Ms. Grant was elected to four terms on the Clark Middle School Site Based Decision Making Council, served five years as an educational team leader and was elected to the Clark County Certified Appeals Panel in addition to being Academic Team coach. She is a member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers’ Education Association, National Education Association and American Speech/Language and Hearing Association.  She is involved with the Clark Regional Foundation for the Promotion of Health, volunteers with Clark County Community Services and the Salvation Army and is a member of Winchester Fine Arts. Ms. Grant is an elder at First Presbyterian Church in Winchester, where she is also chairwoman of the Bicentennial Committee.

Ms. Grant and her husband, Will, Life Members of the UK Alumni Association, enjoy walking their dogs, traveling, cheering for the Cats and supporting all things UK.
