Share Accounts
Prime Share
To start your credit union membership you will need a savings account. A
deposit of $25 secures your membership with UKFCU and may qualify you for other
services.
Prime Share Account:
- No monthly surcharge
- Minimum balance of $25
- Interest paid monthly on accounts carrying a balance of at least $100
- Can be used as Checking overdraft protection
- Direct deposit

Club Accounts
Saving for the holidays and vacations can be difficult. Our Club accounts
offer an easy way to keep this money separate.
Club Account:
- No minimum balance
- Interest paid monthly on accounts carrying a balance of at least $.01
- No restrictions on withdrawals or deposits
- Balances transfer to your Prime Share or Checking on October 1 (Christmas
Club only)

Senior Share
Members age 54 and up can take advantage of our Senior Share Account. This
account offers an dividend rates that is 0.25% higher than the Prime Share
Account.
Senior Account:
- No minimum balance
- Interest paid monthly on accounts carrying a balance of at least $100
- Dividend rates are 0.25% higher than the Prime Share Account
- No restrictions on withdraws or deposits

Once you have opened your savings you may to build onto your membership by
adding a checking account, loans, Share Certificates, or IRAs.
In addition to our standard accounts, UKFCU also offers:
- KYUTMA (Kentucky Uniform Trust to Minor Act) Account:
Want to open a youth savings account? Under the Uniform Transfer to Minors Act (UTMA), you may set money aside for your minor child as an irrevocable gift.
- Association/Organization Account:
Open an account for your charitable association, nonprofit group, school club or other unincorporated organization. To qualify for membership, all members of your organization must be eligible for UKFCU membership.
As long as your business is owned solely by you and is unincorporated, you can open a “Doing Business As” account here at UKFCU.
NCUA, the National Credit Union Administration, a US
government agency, insures your funds up to $100,000.00. ESI, Excess
Share Insurance Corporation, a prvate corporation, additionally insures your
funds up to $250,000.
