Scantron Bubble Sheets FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

1. Where is the Data Center located?

Data Center Operations is located in McVey Hall, room 59.

If you are arriving from off campus, use the Funkhouser Drive entrance on Rose Street (Gate 3). The last building on the right is a joint complex consisting of McVey Hall and the ASTeCC Building. Approaching McVey Hall from Funkhouser, you will see some steps, which are actually between the two buildings. McVey Hall is to the right of the steps, and the ASTeCC Building is to the left.

Proceed up the steps, through the inner double doors, and down the hallway to the last set of doors on your right. Go through these doors to the end of the corridor, and turn left. You will drop off, and pick up, all scanning input and output at the Data Center window/counter, which is on your left.

Don't forget to call us (859-257-2222) if you have questions.

However, the doors to the ASTeCC building are unlocked only during business hours -- i.e., 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, except on holidays. Outside business hours, users should call us (859-257-2222) to gain access. The entrance between the ASTeCC Building and McVey Hall closest to the Grehan Building is the preferred door.

No.  For each Exam that you want to have processed as a separate group, you must have a separate Request Form, separate Key(s), and, if appropriate, a Weight sheet.

10. Can I have a new Bubble Sheet designed?

Although there are several general purpose forms available for data entry use, the most used is the Scantron General Purpose Answer Sheet (306726) that was designed at the University of Kentucky, which allows 240 variables with five responses each.

But, occasionally a User may have data to be processsed, and the bubble sheets that the University Supply Center provides are inappropriate. Therefore, a new bubble sheet can be designed for your special application; but, unless the project is a long-term one, the cost is usually not justifiable.

The User must contact Scantron for this Service, for which there will probably be a cost.

For information about this service, please contact:
