Finals Midnight Crunch Brunch – UK students' favorite event!
On Monday, Dec. 15, thousands of UK students will escape from the stress of studying for finals and head to Memorial Coliseum for a night of food, fun and relaxation.
Every year, UK administrators, faculty and staff come together to serve a free, late-night breakfast to UK students who are preparing for their final exams. Coined the "Finals Midnight Crunch Brunch," the event is consistently chosen as "the best event at UK" in student surveys, and was created to show hard-working students that the entire university personally and actively supports their efforts to do well in the classroom.
In addition to a hot breakfast, Crunch Brunch also offers various activities to help take students’ minds off of the books for an hour or two and just relax. Some of the most popular activities include playing pool with UK President Lee T. Todd Jr., getting a free massage, or having caricatures drawn by artists.
The number of students who attend the event has increased each year. Last year, more than 2,500 students ate breakfast and joined in the festivities. Many enjoy coming to pick up free breakfast, energy drinks, a Crunch Brunch T-shirt and other stress-relieving giveaways. The event offers something for everyone, even if it's just a short break from the books.
This year the UK Student Activities Board, the UK Federal Credit Union and the President's Office will be hosting the eighth annual Finals Midnight Crunch Brunch from 9 p.m. until midnight Monday, Dec. 15, in Memorial Coliseum. To get in, students must have a valid UK Wildcat ID, a big appetite and a need to relax – if only for a little while before getting back to the books!
