Boone Center Open to Everyone March 16-20

Admit it. You’ve walked by the Hilary J. Boone Center on your way across campus, curious about stopping in to grab lunch with a friend or co-worker. But there was one problem: You’re not a member of the Boone Center.

From March 16-20, the Boone Center will offer you a chance to pique that curiosity. UK will waive the membership requirement throughout the week to allow all UK faculty and staff the opportunity to experience the world-class facility that is located in the heart of campus.

"I want all of our faculty and staff to understand that the Boone Center is for them," said UK President Lee T. Todd, Jr. "The University spent some time renovating and refurbishing the Boone Center, as we worked to transform it into the type of first-class facility this campus deserves. I want members of the UK family to be able to bring a friend or colleague to the Boone Center and be proud of it."

The Boone Center is available throughout the year to host departmental meetings and special events. In fact, it has become quite popular for such activities.

"The College of Medicine hosted one of our major donor receptions at the Boone Center this past fall," said Jay Perman, Dean of the UK College of Medicine. "And we couldn't have been happier. The food, service, and ambience were sublime. We’ll definitely be back."

Featuring cutting-edge videoconferencing and audio-visual technology, the facility is perfectly suited to fill your meeting needs. Unlike many other conference and meeting centers, the Boone Center does not charge extra for utilizing that technology.

The Boone Center also is open every morning to those on campus who want to read the morning newspaper and enjoy a cup of coffee in the cozy bar and library area. The coffee is complimentary and you do not have to be a Boone Center member to enjoy this perk.

The Boone Center will be open all week long for lunch as well as tours. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. Space is limited so reservations are requested. To make your reservation, please call 257-1133. If you choose to dine with us during that week, please note that the Boone Center accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover; checks and cash are not accepted. If you want to take a tour, simply stop by and check in with one of our Boone Center staff members. For more information about the Boone Center visit www.uky.edu/BooneCenter.
