The University of Kentucky began with a vision			
									

"We want ample grounds, and buildings, and libraries,		
and apparatus, and museums, and endowments, and 
prize funds, and professors with great heads and hearts, 
faith and energy which will make this institution eventually 
equal to any on the continent."  -John Bryan Bowman

In 2000, the University of Kentucky publicly launched its              
first ever capital campaign, 

We asked for your support

For students

For faculty

For programs

For libraries								

For buildings	

To support teaching							

To elevate research							

To expand clinical care						

To broaden service							

To enrich the lives of Kentuckians					

And you answered the call.

You endowed 82 new chairs 

You created 182 new professorships

You funded 265 fellowships, scholarships, endowed 
research and library funds 

You created scholarships

You built new buildings, facilities and centers 

You set new records for fund raising at the 
University of Kentucky		

And then you broke those records.

At the University of Kentucky, we have gratefully
received your gifts in our $1 Billion capital campaign.

You answered the Call to Greatness					
You allowed us to Dream-Challenge-Succeed			

You have supported our quest to be a Top 20 university

You have given us the power to do great things
