  3. In Wonders of the Invisible World, Cotton Mather prefaces his discussion of the witchcraft trials by saying that he writes, not as an interested party or "advocate," but as a disinterested observer, "an historian" (p. 66). Do you buy that claim? Why or why not? Answer in 1-2 paragraphs, using direct evidence from the text to support your claim.
