  • Discuss the research ethics paper assignment.
  • Discuss The Prince.
  • Ethics workshop: Greengrocers.
  • Read The Prince, ch. 4-7.
  • In 1-2 double-spaced pages, discuss the two methods of obtaining power put forth by Machiavelli in ch. 6 & 7. Your discussion should include a brief summary of Maciavelli's points, as well as your thoughts on both methods.
  • Read "Analyzing Arguments" (SMH 9a-e, 146-154).

  • In a 1-2 paragraph memo to your instructor, propose the topic of your ethics paper. Your topic should be arguable, and your memo should contain your major claim and 1-2 reasons to support that claim. If choosing option 1, explain the importance of your topic to your field.
