Demineralized Incremental Lines

Incremental lines of von Ebner (A) that reflect rhythmic dentin deposition are more distinctly visualized in this demineralized section. Dentinal tubules sweep across the field from lower left to upper right. The dentin in the lower left margin of the field (B) is devoid of such lines. This is a characteristic of mantle dentin. In the center of the field is a spherical configuration (C) that reflects the spherule-like mineralization pattern of dentin.
