Judith Cramer
Judith Cramer is the general
manager of WCWP FM and WebRadio WCWP, and teaches in the Media Arts Department
at the C.W. Post campus of Long Island University. She earned her Ph.D. in Mass
Communication and Cultural Studies from The Union Institute, her M.A. in Applied
Communication from the University of Hartford, and her B.S. Sports Information/Journalism
from Keene State College. She has worked for 10 years as a news and sports reporter,
news director, talk show host and producer in commercial and public radio. She
is the author of several articles and chapters on women in media, in Women
in Mass Communication: Challenging Gender Values (Sage, first published in
1989) and Women, Media and Sport: Challenging Gender Values (Sage, 1994),
and Women Transforming Communication (Sage, 1996). Cramer is a member of
the Polk Awards for Excellence in Journalism selection committee.
