Kate Peirce

Kate Peirce (Ph.D. in journalism, the University of Texas, 1982) is professor of Mass Communication at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. She teaches print journalism courses, research methods to both undergraduate and graduate students, and women and minorities in the media, also on both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Her research is primarily in the area of women and minorities in the media; she has published in Sex Roles, Journalism & Mass Communication Educator, Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly and Sociological Spectrum. She has also contributed many book chapters on a variety of subjects. She is co-chair of the Commission on the Status of Women for the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication
