Guidelines for the Submission of Commentaries
for the
the new Review of Agricultural Economics

This document outlines guidelines for those who wish to submit proposals for the Commentaries section of the new Review of Agricultural Economics

In developing Commentaries, please consider the following...

1. Commentaries consist of short articles dealing with issues raised in articles published in this or other agricultural economics journals. Commentaries need not be directly related to a specific article that has been previously published. The Commentaries section is a forum for the discussion of controversial current issues facing agricultural economists.

2. Maximum length for a manuscript submitted for the Commentaries section is 1,200 words. Manuscripts longer than 1,200 words will be treated as Articles for the Applied Analyses Section.

3. Those interested in writing for the Commentaries section should read the Announcement Statement for the Journal. In particular, note that the intended readership of this Journal is broader than for other scholarly journals in agricultural economics and that the review process attempts to identify Commentaries which will be widely read.

4. Commentaries will be reviewed by the editors, editorial council members and/or other reviewers as designated by the editors.

Three copies should be mailed to:
