doreen maloney is a video artist and professor at the university of kentucky in lexington. She is interested in exploring contemporary art themes and is fascinated by the schism between everyday community art and the art of the academy and the biennal forums. She teaches video, digital art, performance, installation and perfers art that is interventionist in practise.

She holds undergraduate degrees from Indiana University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison in German, Russian, Interarts and Technology and graduate degrees from UW-Madison in Turkish History and Art.
