Group Project Guideline

5/15

Form groups of 5 students each.

5/23

Develop a business plan for an E-commerce initiative. Describe its objectives, costs and benefits, as well as development strategies.  Any initiative is fine.  Ideal place to look is at your work – this could be a great opportunity for you to enhance your grade and make your boss happy (maybe you will get promoted!!).  (4 points)

5/30

Design static web pages for your E-commerce initiative, i.e., include elements covered in Levels I and II of Carey's text.  (3 points)

6/2

Enhance your web pages with user interactivity and dynamic data access, i.e., include elements covered in Level III of Carey's text.  (3 points)

6/9

Demonstrate your E-commerce systems to the class (about 20 minutes).  (10 points)

6/10

Prepare a report to document your entire system development effort, i.e., from initiation to implementation.  Discuss the specific e-commerce strategies employed.  The report should be about 10-15 pages (typed, double-spaced, including figures, tables, etc.).  Turn in a printed copy of the report and an electronic copy of the completed system.  (10 points)

Note:  Your individual score will be adjusted based on the evaluation of your group members.
