I joined the faculty in the Department of Political Science at the University of Kentucky after completing my Ph.D. at the University of Iowa (2006).  My teaching and research focus is in international relations, specifically international conflict.  I also do work in formal modeling (dynamic models) and quantitative methods.

I teach a variety of courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level.  My undergraduate courses include:  Introduction to World Politics, International Conflict, and International Relations Theory.  Graduate level courses include:  Proseminar in International Relations, International Security and Conflict, and Introduction to Techniques of Political Research (OLS Regression).  I also work with a large number of undergraduate students collecting original data.

My recent publications have appeared in the American Journal of Political Science, International Studies Quarterly, Conflict Management and Peace Science, and Foreign Policy Analysis.
