Advisors for New Incoming Freshman
Advisors from the agricultural biotechnology program will
advise most first time incoming freshman during merit weekends and summer advising conferences.
During the fall semester of the freshman year, each student is assigned a permanent academic advisor. Your advisor will help you with class scheduling and your career goals. Advisors also help students find part-time jobs at the University and help students make contacts for their internships, scholarships and research experiences. Advisors for all Transfer Students
Dr. Joseph Chappell advises most transfer students whether they are changing majors or transferring from another College or University. Dr. Chappell will remain the transfer student's advisor for the remainder of their degree track.

Mentors
Each student in the Ag Biotech program is required to perform an independent research project or internship. The student starts this process by selection a faculty research mentor. Any faculty member of the university who has an active research program relating to some aspect of Biotechnology may serve as a research mentor. The research mentor may or may not be a student's advisor.
The Coordinating Committee
represents the breadth of the participating departments and consists of faculty members appointed by the Associate Dean of Academic Programs in the College of Agriculture. These faculty members are responsible for the direction and development of the Ag Biotech program and monitoring the progress of students within the program.
