Myron Dickerson, starting his fourth season as head coach at Royerton, lists 12 varsity basketball players. Nine of them are six-footers. Three are 6-4 or taller. Four of them were starters last year.

Dickerson declines to offer a guess as to the 1963-64 prospects if his Redbirds. Most area coaches who will find it necessary to play Royerton would be willing to do Myron's guessing for him. They would agree that he is going to be pretty doggone hard to beat—as usual!

Royerton won 12 last year while losing nine and was beaten by Muncie Burris in the sectional, 61-55.

Dickerson was graduated from Perry Central High School and Ball State College.

Royerton has 303 high school students and the new principal

is John Stebbins, who, once upon a time, was a highly successful coach at the same school.

Dickerson will open the season with John Carter, a 5-10 forward; James Holler, 6-2 forward-center; George Shaver, a 6-4 center, and Ted Dixon, a 6-4 forward, who were regulars last year.

Other lettermen available include Bruce Hatfield,       6-4 1/4; Bill Storey, 6-1; Chuck Taylor, 6-0; Scott Fisher, 6-2 l/2, and Mike Davis, 5-10.

Asked to name his potential most troublesome opponent Dickerson wrote: "There are several good teams this year. We'll have to play them one at a time.

The cautious Royerton  coach thus makes no predictions of a big year or a small year, but one thing is certain; if and

when Royerton loses a basketball game, it won't be because of lack of size.

The Redbirds, who recently completed their football schedule, will be at Harrison Nov. 15 for their first game. They play in the Mississinewa Valley Conference which, as Dickerson points out, has "several god[sic] teams this year."
