Playing opportunities
The UK Wind Ensemble uses 3 to 4 bassoonists, depending on literature. This group frequently features chamber pieces such as the Stravinsky Octet or Mozart Grand Partita, and has been featured during Conferences of the College Band Director's National Association.
The University Symphony Band uses up to 4 bassoonists, and performs demanding literature for large ensembles.

The University Symphony Orchestra has been featuring major works for over 30 years. We are fortunate to have a large base of fine string players, partially due to the strong Suzuki program in Central Kentucky. The UK Orchestra has performed such works as Strauss Tone Poems, Stravinsky Ballets, and Beethoven, Brahms, and Shostakovitch Symphonies. The group sponsors an annual Concerto Competition for UK students, which has been won twice by members of my studio.
