The Program

The ECL offers children's programs based on simple routines and careful planning.  Learning in the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional areas of development are planned.  The programs offer many learning activities in art, language arts, music, science, premath, food preparation and nutrition, dramatic play, large and small muscle skills, and perceptual motor and sensory motor experiences.

Within this structure, the children are given the opportunity to choose friends, learn skills, develop competence, independence, and self-esteem so that they will be able to take responsibility for their own actions.  Adults offer warm support and guidance and each child is carefully observed so that individual needs may be identified and met.  The ECL faculty strives to make the laboratories a pleasant, child-centered place.
