Hi, I'm Chase Southard. Seduced by computers, I began learning the languages that power web publication and application (XHTML, CSS, PHP, Perl, JavaScript, Ruby on Rails, and XML) along with design and accessibility a few years ago. This site is a result of some recent tinkering where I have made use of JavaScript to provide some interesting (although not critical) features. So, make sure you have JavaScript enabled on your machine and enjoy. This introduction is intentionally informal. The serious stuff can be found elsewhere. My freelance project site can be found at: ChaseSouthard.com

- UPDATE: I removed the yellow fade effect in favor of having a style switcher available for users. I hope to combine the two functions. The information below is still interesting though.
Inspired by the amazing folks at 37signal.com, where they use their own proprietary technique of fading yellow to show changes. I wanted to understand how the yellow fade could be accomplished. After some searching, I found an nicely put together explaination and JavaScript code from axentric that allows you to fade anything. Very nice, axentric. Bravo. Fort those of you annoyed by the YFT, I would eventually like to write some code so you can turn that option off.
- That's a very unattractive shade of yellow. Can I change the page style?
- UPDATE:I put a style switcher in place. However, it uses JavaScript so make sure its enabled.
Yes, but not yet. Hopfully, soon. Until then, just ignore the yellow. However, Ignoring the yellow is still an available option.
