KY 4-H Summer Camps

June 23 & 24 Carlisle KY

What are you doing this summer? Are you a fan of the hit TV series CSI? Are you a science nerd? Do you want to learn about genetics and DNA? If you answered yes to any of these we have the camp for you! Oh, and don't worry, it is SUMMER CAMP; you will have some down time to swim in the onsite pool and maybe even climb a tree or burn a marshmallow! You will be staying overnight in group cabins so you might be up all night talking with new friends about all the discoveries you made that day.

The theme for the camp will be a crime scene investigation wherein the students collect evidence, isolate and analyze DNA as well as figure out the principal suspect(s). The students will utilize standard forensics techniques to find matches with DNA from the crime scene with that of the suspect(s) and use this information in a trial for the perpetrator(s) of the crime.

The Biotechnology and YOU Camp is an opportunity for 7th & 8th grade students from all over KY to come together to learn how to investigate, explore and solve problems using the newest in scientific technology and learn about the many careers biotechnology can provide
