In addition to showing heifers and steers as a youth, Warren also showed sheep from his own Suffolk flock. He funded a large part of his education from proceeds that he won in those contests. The decision to pursue a degree in Animal Sciences at Kansas State University was spurred on by Warren's livestock background. By being active in Block & Bridle, Warren was taught the value of team work, especially in his role as President.
