When you need to know the insect(s)

Often, a medical or public health diagnosis or response to an insect problem depends on the identity of the insects.  Our laboratory is equipped to identify all arthropods of medical and public health significance whether it’s a single spider that may harbor MRSA or weekly mosquito samples from a large municipality.

Small specimen count identifications are handled on a gratis basis.  Large specimen count identification services are available on a fee basis depending on specimen count and frequency.  If you might be interested in this service, please give us a call.

· Professional and accurate identification on all submissions.  All identifications are to species or, if relevant, to subspecies.

· Quick turn-around on critical, low specimen count applications.

· Mosquitoes and sand flies are our specialty but we can also identify any arthropod of medical or public health significance.

· Pathogen screening of specimens also available (fee applies, varies by pathogen).

Specimens can be mounted and preserved for later use.
