Pesticide
Applicator Training
Information Management
Each County Extension Office now uses the PATIM program to maintain its own database of private applicators trained in the county and also issues
the yellow certification cards that must be shown to the dealer when buying Restricted Use pesticides.
Information from the Private Applicator Training form (revised 1994) is entered into the database using the PATIM program which should be installed on
one computer in your office. The program automatically assigns a unique certification number to each applicator and enters the individual into the
county records. The certification lasts for 3 years and the individual must attend a training meeting to become certified again. All private certifications
expire on December 31.
Sending Databases to Lexington
Follow these steps to send your county PATIM database file as an
attachment to a mail message:
If you have questions, contact Rod Hillard, Programmer -
Replacement cards can be issued at any time if the person is in
your PATIM database. If an applicator loses a card, use the
"look up function" of the program to find the name in the
database. Get the certification number and expiration date and
make them a replacement card. Do not enter them into the system,
that will give them a new number and a different expiration date.
Call (859) 257-5955 if you have any questions.
Calls to Frankfort
Please send your database to us after each training session. This
will keep our records current and have a backup database for you.
Do not add any new applicators to your database until you receive

Frankfort no longer deals with private applicator cards or records.
Call the Division of Pesticides, toll free 866 289-0001, if there is a
question about pesticide laws, rules, or regulations. Do not
call them about private applicator cards; the most current
information is in your county database.
