Magnitude 8.0 earthquake Samoa Islands Region on September 29, 2009
A major earthquake occurred at 17:48:11 (UTC) on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 in the Samoa Islands Region, 185 km (115 miles) east-northeast of Hihifo, Tonga.
The magnitude 8.0 earthquake occurred at a depth of 18 kilometers (11.2 miles).
