KGS receives support from the U.S. Geological Survey's STATEmap program for surficial geologic mapping
The Kentucky Geological Survey's Matthew Massey received funding from the U.S. Geological Survey's STATEmap program to support surficial geologic mapping along the I-65 corridor in Hardin County, Kentucky. In addition to Massey, KGS geologists Antonia Bottoms and Max Hammond will map the project area.
This mapping builds on the previous year's project in Hardin County and allows KGS to add to an existing dataset for Hardin County. Data from this and future projects will be incorporated into a new GIS data structure to allow nationwide compatibility of geologic map data.
