Do I need to sign up for a session?

Yes, you need to register.  Every group coaching session is limited to ten spots.  Click the "Make an Appointment" button below to sign up.

 

When and where?
Wednesdays @ 6:30-7:30 p.m. in The Study North located in Jewel Hall.
Thursdays @ 2:30-3:30 p.m. in The Study Central located in Donovan Hall.
 
Active Learning Midterm Test Prep
Wednesday, October 9 and Thursday, October 10
How do you study for your classes? Do you ever find yourself spending hours looking over course notes, taking an exam, and then not feeling satisfied with your grade? Come to our group coaching session on active learning to share and learn study tips to make the most of the time you put into prepping for your classes and exams!
Note: Please bring materials for one of your classes to this session so you can directly apply study techniques to that class!
 
Test Anxiety and De-Stressing:
Wednesday, October 15 and Thursday, October 16; Wednesday, December 4, and Thursday, December 5
It's that of year when exams and projects seem to be all happening one after another. Come to this group coaching session to share healthy coping strategies and ways to manage your stress while studying and taking exams.

 

Spaced-Repetition & Long-Term Memory Formation:

Wednesday, October 30 and Thursday, October 31

Are you guilty of procrastination? Do you ever find yourself studying for an exam and finding yourself unable to recall what you learned in class one week, month, or semester later? Come to this group coaching session to learn some study strategies to ensure you remember what you're learning long-term. These study tips can even help reduce stress later when you're studying for finals!
 
Procrastination and Motivation:
Wednesday, November 6 and Thursday, November 7
Is there a class you dread studying for? Are you pulling all-nighters finishing papers? Come to this session to share and learn some tricks for staying on task and helping manage your coursework. 
 

3:1 Supports and Resources on Campus:

Wednesday, November 6 and Thursday, November 14

At Academic Coaching, we believe every student needs access to three types of resources to be successful: academic, social-emotional, and access to opportunity. Feel like there's something missing and you need help connecting to a resource on campus? Feel like you would benefit from a list of your supports to turn to during stressful parts of the semester? Come to this session to help identify your UKY supports and take a step towards success!

 
Finals Study Plan:
Wednesday, November 20 and Thursday, November 14
Finals are right around the corner! Come to this session and create your own daily study plan as you prepare for finals.
