The complexity of health care systems today demands an increased focus on improving outcomes with knowledge of evidence-based nursing interventions. A BSN-prepared nurse is innovative in health care delivery with knowledge in interprofessional practice, leadership and bedside expertise.
IMPORTANT: This rigorous program allows students to complete all didactic course work fully online, but requires weekly in-person clinicals and labs on the University of Kentucky campus.

Our ABSN program has three applicant types (i) Second-degree (ii) MedVet and (iii) LPN.
Admission requirements depends on applicants background.
(i) Second-degree Applicants
Completion of a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree.
Completion of all UK Core requirements. Second-degree students MUST meet this requirement by virtue of the first degree.
(ii) MedVet Applicants
Completion of Army Medical Specialist (68W), Navy Corpsman or Air Force Medical Specialist training.
Completion of all UK Core requirements.
Review of JST and CLEP for academic transfer credit with UK's Veterans Resource Center and Transfer Equivalency Office.*

(iii) LPN Applicants
The full number of credit hours that are required to earn a bachelors degree is 120. Required credits will vary based on previous credits earned by a student.

$614 per semester Nursing Fee in addition to the Cost Per Credit shown above.
Participants will get an overview of each College of Nursing ABSN program (LPN to BSN, MedVet, and Second Degree). You'll also have the opportunity to speak directly with our recruiter and program coordinator. We are hosting three sessions from 12 to 1 p.m (Eastern Time) on the following days:
