Delve deeper into the knowledge and skills for clinical practice

This certificate prepares practitioners for social work practice with individuals and families in a variety of settings e.g. agencies that serve veterans, counseling agencies, community mental health centers, hospitals, schools, state and public agencies, family services, etc.  Furthermore, as clinical social workers diagnose and treat mental and behavioral disorders, including substance use disorders, additional licensure and education is required to ensure that they have the knowledge and skills to effectively prepare for clinical practice. Clinical social work practice is highly specialized and requires licensure and typically has better economic outcomes for social work practitioners. In the U.S., clinical social work jobs are projected to grow approximately 16% by 2026 (Bureau of Labor Statistics).
