Learn and transform your social work niche with an advanced level of clinical knowledge and skills. Students in this graduate certificate program will learn to apply relevant scientific evidence, master standards of care, understand ethical and legal principles, and learn how to exercise clinical judgment to support diagnostic, and therapeutic interventions.
This certificate prepares students for social work practice with individuals and families in a variety of settings and populations, e.g. children, families, veterans, counseling agencies, community mental health centers, hospitals, schools, state and public agencies, family services, etc. Clinical social work jobs are in high demand and projected to grow approximately 16% by 2026 (Bureau of Labor Statistics) and typically have better economic outcomes for social work practitioners. Clinical social work practice is highly specialized and requires licensure with criteria specific to each state.
