Hone Your Skills for the Online Learning Market

Designed for working professionals, this online graduate certificate will help you develop high-quality distance education courses and programs. Graduates of our program work in education, public health, government, private business, and other settings. They create online courses for colleges and universities, K-12 schools, businesses, and non-profit organizations, provide continuing education credits, and implement or deliver training. This program will also help those who teach online to hone their skills in online teaching, as well as the design and development of learning content and activities to engage online learners. As a graduate of this program you will be able to:

  • Design educational materials for interaction in the online setting. 
  • Use learning management systems like Canvas and Blackboard.
  • Obtain training and coursework assessment in Quality Matters.
  • Learn digital video conferencing tools like Zoom, Blue Jeans, and Big Blue Button.
  • Implement e-learning and multimedia tools like Camtasia, Adobe Captivate and more.

Coursework completed as part of this graduate certificate may also count toward the online Master of Science in Instructional Systems Design or the online Master in Rehabilitation Counseling. The Graduate Certificate is a collaborative effort of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction within the Instructional Systems Design program and the Department of  Early Childhood, Special Education, and Rehabilitation Counseling.

Admission to the program requires a bachelor’s degree in any field, with a cumulative G.P.A. of 2.75 or higher.
