Vocal Pedagogy - (Graduate Certificate)

Restart your search

In order to increase marketability in higher education and be prepared to meet the challenges of teaching voice in the 21st century, the graduate certificate in Vocal Pedagogy is intended primarily for students pursuing a Master of Music (MM) or Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) degrees in voice and choral conducting who wish to gain more experience and expertise in the science and art of teaching.

This certificate may also be pursued by: college and high school choral conductors interested in vocal health and production, and graduate students in communication disorders in the College of Health Science looking to increase their knowledge and understanding of the singing voice. Many new openings in higher education look favorably toward those candidates with secondary areas of expertise and especially pedagogical training. This certificate could be pursued concurrently with the regular MM and DMA degree program of the school of music. The certificate requires the completion of 15 credit hours.
